📻 A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM ERIC STEWARD

The Future of Radio Is Changing — And We’re Proud to Be Part of It!

To our listeners, friends, supporters, and communities,

I wanted to take a moment to share my vision for the future of Throwbacks Radio WRND-DB in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and Rewind Indy Radio WRDY-DB in Indianapolis, Indiana.

When I started building these two stations, my goal was never just to play music over the internet. I wanted to create something special. Something that brings back memories, connects people, supports our local communities, and brings back the excitement and personality that made radio such an important part of our lives.

Growing up, radio was more than music. It was part of our everyday lives. We knew the personalities, looked forward to our favorite shows, and connected songs with unforgettable moments.

That is the kind of radio experience I want to bring back.

🌎 STREAMING RADIO IS CHANGING THE WORLD

The radio industry is going through one of the biggest transformations in its history.

For decades, traditional AM and FM stations were limited by the reach of their broadcast signals. Today, streaming technology is changing that.

Someone who grew up in Champaign-Urbana but now lives in Florida can listen to Throwbacks Radio and reconnect with home. Someone who moved away from Indianapolis can tune in to Rewind Indy from anywhere in the country.

Through smartphones, computers, smart speakers, and connected vehicles, independent radio stations like ours have the opportunity to reach people around the world.

I believe streaming radio represents an exciting future for broadcasting, especially for independent operators who have the passion and determination to build something meaningful.

❤️ OUR COMMUNITIES WILL ALWAYS COME FIRST

Even though streaming allows us to reach listeners worldwide, our roots will always remain local.

Throwbacks Radio proudly serves Champaign-Urbana and Central Illinois, playing the greatest music from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

Rewind Indy proudly serves Indianapolis and Central Indiana, featuring the unforgettable hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Our vision is to make both stations more than just places to hear great music.

We want to continue expanding local news, weather, traffic, school closings, sports coverage, community events, and support for local businesses.

We want our listeners to feel that these are THEIR radio stations.

Because being local means more than saying a city’s name. It means caring about the people who live there.

🎙️ BRINGING THE PERSONALITY BACK TO RADIO

I believe radio should be entertaining, personal, and full of life.

That’s why we’re committed to developing great programming, professional station imaging, specialty shows, and original content.

From our morning shows and afternoon programming to the John & Heidi Show, Club Throwbacks, Throwbacks Time Capsule, and other features, we want to give our listeners something to look forward to every day.

We’re not interested in being just another endless music playlist.

We want to bring back the feeling of having a favorite radio station.

🚀 OUR GOALS AND FUTURE PLANS

We have some ambitious goals for Throwbacks Radio and Rewind Indy.

Over the coming months and years, we plan to continue improving our streaming technology, expanding our local coverage, introducing new programming, growing our VIP listener clubs, and creating more opportunities for local businesses to connect with our audiences.

We’re also exploring how modern technology, automation, and artificial intelligence can help independent radio stations operate more efficiently while maintaining the personality and community connection that make radio special.

We know these goals will take time, hard work, and investment.

But we’re committed to building something that lasts.

📡 INDEPENDENT RADIO STILL HAS A FUTURE

We may not be a large corporate broadcasting company with millions of dollars behind us, but we have something that money alone cannot buy.

We have passion, creativity, determination, and a genuine love for radio.

I believe the future of broadcasting has room for independent stations willing to innovate, take chances, and put their listeners first.

Streaming radio isn’t just about replacing traditional radio. It’s about creating new opportunities, reaching new audiences, and keeping the spirit of radio alive for future generations.

Our goal isn’t to be the biggest radio company. Our goal is to build two of the best independent streaming radio stations we possibly can.

🙏 A PERSONAL THANK YOU

To everyone who has listened to our stations, shared our websites, supported our programming, or encouraged us along the way, I sincerely thank you.

Building something from the ground up isn’t always easy. There are challenges, setbacks, and long hours behind the scenes that most people never see.

But I believe in what we’re creating, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come.

We have much more work ahead of us, and I’m excited about the opportunities the future holds.

The technology will continue to change. The way people listen will continue to evolve.

But one thing will never change.

The music, the memories, and the connection to our communities will always come first.

We’re just getting started!

Thank you for being part of our journey.
